A closer look at the score
Written on a single staff for one-hand performance, this 6/8 lullaby features short notes moving above sustained low notes, allowing both accompaniment and melody to be heard simultaneously within the span of one hand. After a shift in tonal color moving from G to E, Am, and a diminished chord, the piece concludes by passing through Cm to a Gadd2 arpeggio, leaving a lingering resonance.
